A friend recently recommended Terminator Salvation to me so I gave it a whirl. I'd pretty much lost interest in the Terminator films, even before T3. Thankfully Salvation was enjoyable and well worth watching. The story was a bit flakey, but hey! It's Terminator! :D

Thats the one I wanted to get, but by the time I had the money, the only price I could find it for was £30 on DVD  So, I gave up and bought the normal 2 disc for £3 :D

About the longer version, it contains more gore, and more character development, apparently. Paramount got a bit nervous when it went for test screenings, as the violence was too much (apparently), so they ordered Anderson to cut the most explicit violence, and most of the backstory, to the 93 minute marvel we have today. But, I doubt we'll ever see it, as it supposedly got lost/was destroyed by fire/someone's dog run off with or something. Shame, really, as I would love to sit through it and see what could have been.

Yeah, 'Event Horizon' is quite a good sci fi film. It is sort of a ghost story set in space. Unfortunately, the version I watched(it was off of ITV 4), was in 4:3 ratio! Arggghhhh!

Thinking of it, I suppose it does resemble 'Solaris'(both the original Russian version and the US remake with George Clooney). Both sort of feature a similar storyline - but in Event Horizon it is much more horror focused.

I continued with my viewing of 'Sons of Anarchy' (season 4). It has finally kicked into gear. It might be behind both seasons 1 & 2, in quality terms, but it is still a lot better than season 3. Going to be interesting to see the conclusion.

Hate Event Horizon with a passion. Horror-Sci-Fi by numbers.

Started watching Breaking Bad and am loving it so far. Dark, funny and very well acted.

What season are you on, SirClive? I recently watched the season 4 DVDs(which were great in my opinion).

A shame it got a bad deal from the UK broadcasters. Only FX showed the first season(late at night) and FiveUSA showed the first two seasons(late at night as well). You have to go to other methods to watch the other seasons. I know it costs a lot to make(about 3 million dollars an episode), but still.

Just watched the last three episodes of The Walking Dead Season Two. Yikes. Didn't expect the outcome of a few of those characters.

Just watched The Mist on Netflix. Nasty ending, although I was expecting it to end that way. Not a terrible film though, and the CGI didn't seem as bad as reviews suggest.

Last night I watched an obscure sub B-Movie DVD called Cradle of Fear. What a messed up, bizarre British horror/gore film. Wasn't quite sure what to think at the end of it!

I continued with more of 'Sons of Anarchy'(season 4). Although, I have miscalculated, which means that I am going to have to wait a while for the last episode to be screened on 5USA(only this Wednesday though). Still a pretty good season. I have about 3 more episodes to go.

I hated the ending of the Mist, just didn't make any sense to me. Otherwise I liked the movie though.
