On saying that, I saw The Spiderwick Chronicles for the first time last year, I thought it was brilliant and it really surprised me.
The Goonies is an awesome film. Don't know if you've ever seen the photo I put up in the 'Photos Of Your Collection' thread, but I've had my Goonies DVD cover signed by both Sean Astin and Corey Feldman
I agree totally here - Some of my favourite films now are my favourites from back then
Neverending story
Dark Crystal
Labyrinth
Flight Of The Navigator
to name but a few - when imagination and real effort went into kids films. I think kids cartoons by and large suffer the same these days.
And Spiderwick was probably the only exception of a film in quite a while thought it was really quite good and would possibly like to read more . Charlie and the Chocolate factory never needed to be made and there are many other bad examples of film. I am surprised some of the better kids films havent been re-invented for modern times.*shudder*
