On saying that, I saw The Spiderwick Chronicles for the first time last year, I thought it was brilliant and it really surprised me.

The Goonies is an awesome film. Don't know if you've ever seen the photo I put up in the 'Photos Of Your Collection' thread, but I've had my Goonies DVD cover signed by both Sean Astin and Corey Feldman :)

I agree totally here - Some of my favourite films now are my favourites from back then

Neverending story
Dark Crystal
Labyrinth
Flight Of The Navigator

to name but a few - when imagination and real effort went into kids films. I think kids cartoons by and large suffer the same these days.

And Spiderwick was probably the only exception of a film in quite a while thought it was really quite good and would possibly like to read more . Charlie and the Chocolate factory never needed to be made and there are many other bad examples of film. I am surprised some of the better kids films havent been re-invented for modern times.*shudder*

Well, I witnessed something called 'Sucker Punch' on Sky earlier. That one went way over my head, wasnt impressed at all. If there was a mesaage in there all it was saying to me was "change the fuckin channel dude".

Just finished watching Puss In Boots on Blu Ray. Really enjoyed it, it was a lot funnier than I was expecting it to be. :) Might've helped that I pretty much didn't see a single trailer for it before I watched though.

Yeah, I didn't really 'get' it either. A good bit of idle titillation but nothing more. Sold the DVD the day after watching it I think.

Yesterday I watched Mr Poppers Penguins (decent film but not Carrey's best) and The Running Man (as awesome as ever :)).

death note,i've been reading the manga and wanted to see the live action film.not bad, reading the manga helps and some of the acting is terrible but enjoyed it.

the second part arrived in the post today but it was the subbed not dubbed version much to my annoyance, tried to do it the honest way and failed, already spoken to someone about getting the version i want.

Dan vs the dinosaur

Is this ment for kids, what with all the Jurassic park references?
Still it was a bloody funny episode.

Anyone watching the new season of Thundercats?
Is it better than the other one?

I watched a bit more of 'Sons of Anarchy'(season 4). Just the last episode to go now.

I then caught up with more 'Mad Men'. Don had a meeting with an old flame of his and it didn't go well!

And tonight I have not long finished watching Rocky 3. Im feeling all pumped up now! Not good considering the time of night  . Brilliant film, as were 1 and 2. Four is okay and the last 2.....

I tell you what though, I must be getting softer now im a bit older, I actually had a huge lump in my throat when Micky died and could quite easily have shed a tear. The amount of times I have seen this film and hardly flinched at that scene and now..... well, im shocked.

Mind you, always used to watch this with my dad.

The 6th Day. Pretty decent even if it wasn't as shooty/explodey as most Arnie films.
