Where did I say that I didn't like this place?

Do you really think I would post here if I hated it? I have made a lot of very good friends here and subscribe to the magazine.

I love the way you choose to single me out even though the whole thread is pretty much one long moan. Maybe if you don't like people moaning you should just avoid threads like this?

I don't mean to single you out, it's just that when the retro only brigade start rattling their sabres the eye of gman72 turns in their direction, and that can only end badly, no offence intended

EDIT
I just noticed you've bumped your thread about some other Retro Forum.
There is something quite distasteful about that but I can't quite put my finger on it.
It just seems like your promotion of another forum whilst this one is in a bit of upheaval is a bit... low, maybe i'm over-reacting I don't know, it just seems a little crass and indifferent to me.

It's starting to feel like Lord Of The Flies in here, it really is.

I would love to be abe to get rid of the spam threads, people keep bumping them  Come on everyone, you know who you are, display a bit of common sense and ignore them FFS until they can be dealt with.

It'd be a good idea if this thread was locked too. Not wanting to ruin anybody's 'fun' here but all that's happening is that it's devolving into a pointless row. Both sides have got a point, but it's a stupid thing to fall out over. Some people would prefer all retro, some people prefer things the way they are. That's fine, neither side is in the wrong. No need for things to get personal, lets all just agree to disagree for now, eh? :?

I agree with you, ToxieDogg.

I'm getting tired of this on-going arguments. It's not helping this community at all with someone patronising, manipulating and possibly trolling along the way. Everyone needs to grow up as they're experiencing guilts within their own posts and it's not going to resolve the issue. They need to sort themselves out.

Oh, by the way, I apologies for my harsh comments yesterday as I can be short-tempered sometime. Yep I have respect for psj3809 for being a Spectrum fan, but apart from that the C64 gets my vote. Plus what's the reason for him to leave? Where does his fate lies? Although he's likely to be on the MIA list.

No offence, but after singling Jagfest_UK out for criticism and then denying you were singling him out you've now taken the step of adding the above wording to your latest post which singles him out once more. What gives? Seems like you have some sort of personal grievance with him even though you're intent on denying this. Maybe I'm reading that wrong though.

I note you singularly chose to flag up the non-issue, and perfectly within the rules, instance of another retro gaming forum that's non-profit making and evidently exists for the benefit of the community. Why single such a thing out with your eyre when in the same Off Topic sub-forum here there are other current threads pertaining to profit making commercial ventures such as those for two magazine/bookazine ventures.

To quote from this site's AUP,

5. No commercial use
Our forums are for topic discussion only and its use for commercial, press releases, adverts, or any other solicited or unsolicited commercial communication posting is strictly forbidden.

Said post/s by Jagfest_UK don't contravene that rule in any way but other current threads by other members do but yet you choose to single him out again even though you claim not to be. :?

There is a genuine need for a Britains got no talent type audition thread for all potential future mods. Or possibly a proper election type affair with election banners, campaign support groups, inflamatory posts about getting rid of trolls etc etc.

There's no possible way that could go wrong is there?

I have offered, yes, it's no secret. Not the first time I've offered to do it either. But whether or not anyone ever takes me up on it, I just think we're better than this....we're a bunch of grown men, and no sooner is Darran on holiday and we're a couple of mods down, and everybody is either at each other's throat or bumping the spam threads. It's meant to be the official forum for a magazine, but it's looking more like the Wild West at the moment. It's the kind of sh!t I expect to see when I log onto wrestlingforum.com or gamefaqs. People need to take a look at themselves. A few years back when we had all that crap go on with the clown, I couldn't see it at the time but in hindsight I was being just as big a troll as he was because people were having to wade through all the crap and bile I was typing as well as him. I've been a right narky outspoken git more recently than that as well, a few times. Some people might've had a laugh but it wasn't really good for the image of the forum and magazine, the same as none of this is really.

That probably sounds like a load of self sanctimonious bull to a lot of people, but we've had a sudden spate of people making big 'leaving' announcements and mods quitting. Something is not right. I'm thinking some of us grown ups need to act a bit more 'grown up'. :? It's no good just thinking that everything will blow over eventually and everybody will just have a laugh about it at the next event...that was psj's ideal. Not everyone goes to those things. I've seen what appear to be genuine grudges developing between people recently and I think it's a bit daft that the forum's gone in that direction.

Chillax. We all came here for the same reason (I think :? ), because we enjoy the mag and talking about old games now and then, no reason why we can't just get along.

Oh, and BTW, if I was ever gonna vote for a mod, I'd vote for Space_Turnip there.
