Cleared it on my first go in HD! I see what you mean, use of the slide move at the right time evens things up!! Not sure if I think the autoaim for the bow and arrow is a good idea - it keeps up the blistering pace of the game but also takes a bit of the skill out of it.

The auto aiming is a god send for the later levels, where you have rocket launcher guys attacking you from far away with a dozen or so goons and dogs all targetting you at the same time. It can make for some really fast paced battles.

Black. On hard.
I'm hoping to unlock the silver weapons and black ops difficulty, but that final level is so hard I don't think I'll manage it.
Fortunately I still rate this as one of the best FPSes ever made, so I'll have plenty of fun trying.

On a 16-bit binge at the moment.
I just finished Scooby-Doo Mystery on the Megadrive and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. It's a point and click adventure game (with a controller, yeah, but it's not quite as bad as it sounds) in the same vein as Lucas Arts' SCUMM stuff. Not being a huge fan of the show I hesitated at first, but soon found it to be a pretty well written and executed romp. If you're a fan of Monkey Island, King's Quest, and the like, I'd say check it out.

C64 Airwolf - inspired by my carboot purchases. The game is even more evil than I remembered. I can complete stage 1 and that's it. Frustrating but fun so I'll stick with it for a few days and see if I can improve.

Tried to complete Ecco the Dolphin again. I gave up last year on "The Tube". Got past that today and also did "The Machine" and got to the final boss. However,
The Machine is a long level and if you die on the boss, you have to do the
whole thing over. So I gave up, again.

Was enjoying a bit of an
Imogen remake, until it appeared to crash.

Im still really enjoying AC Brotherhood and Revelations, especially the Tomb, key etc. sections in revelations, really well put together. I re-visited 2 the other day and I must say neither of the other 2 match it for sheer size and ambition. You really got your moneys worth with 2. It makes Brotherhood and Revelations feel like expansion packs.

As I have 2 weeks off on holiday, I'm getting some gameplay in.
Witcher 2. Fantastic game. Epic in scope, 'mature' but does it well, and with great voice acting. It's a shame that I am so rubbish at anything controlled in the 3rd person. Bah.
As well as that I'm playing some F1 2011 (hence why I'm up at 6 am, damn full length races in Australia and malaysia have nearly killed my hands); Fuel (Still underwhelming and a massive missed opportunity. Still, the vehicles control better than I remember and driving around aimlessly is fun enough) and Civilisation Revolution. Got the missus into it on her new 360 (well, my old one, as I bought a new 250 slim) and she has already kicked my arse. Just isnt the same as the PC games.
On the DC front it's been mainly NBA 2k2 (which plays well still), Episode 1 Racer (which I've grown a perhaps unwarranted love for) and Pod 2 (soulless...).

Im not talking about you the_hawk, just saying alot of people probably didnt play Dantes Inferno because of this 'god of war ripoff' preconceptions, and ruined what could have been a great trilogy.
Dantes Inferno is a a great game, another hack n slash game, but a great one at that. Does not need to be compared to God of War at all. A separate, intriguing story, a great character with great development, and great level design and bosses, all of which had thought and imagination put into.
IMO, Dantes Inferno is better than God of War in many ways.
Got a good bit further into it last night, the above is fair comment, the more I'm playing of it, the more I'm really really enjoying it. It IS very like God of War in terms of both gameplay and atmosphere but that's no bad thing & I'm gutted that it hasn't got the recognition and therefore sequels it deserved as there are some incredible touches in it.
I did learn one thing though, I'd do a terrible job of being God, I find it REALLY difficult to send people to damnation, I end up absolving all the poor souls I find down there!
Man I played Dante's Inferno way too much, had a 2 playthroughs on both the PS3 and 360 - also halfway through the PSP version which is surprisingly faithful to the other conversions. One of the most underrated games i've ever played - it does have one of the most annoying collectables to get in a game if you're after the achievement for collecting them all (all the other items are easy to pick up but one involves swinging and jumping at the right point/time to reach a platform)!! Nice plot and the combat system is very slick, I really hope we see the sequel hinted at on completion

Some PSP love for me - 'Lego Batman' and 'Outrun - 2006', both I own for the Play Station 2, just love the detail the PSP adds.
