The thing is with those big, expensive limited editions is it is SO hard to judge which ones are worth the full whack and which are likely to halve in value within weeks/months. Example: we had ONE Sonic Generations Limited Edition in the shop for £99 - would've been £72 with discount. Thought "Ahh, mass produced etc, will be going for £25 in a few weeks ala Duke Nukem Forever/Alan Wake/et al" - how wrong I was, getting it under £100 on eBay is tough, I've seen them go for nearly double that. Ditto the Sonic Colours one, had a few copies of that we literally couldn't shift at RRP, now they go for £50-£70.

Seems you really have to pick and choose to get a 'feel' for what is a day one purchase, and what is worth waiting a while to buy.

I think I have the same reaction as a lot in this thread - never dreamed there were so many sonic games!

Sonic isn't my favourite, but admire the themed collecting idea - sort of thing I'd like to do one day. Good stuff.

Very impressive collection - reminds me if the time I earned my Collectors badge at Cubs for showcasing all my Sonic stuff (although that was made up more of toys and comics as opposed to games!)

Well to be fair, there isn't really if you consider there are 2 - 3 duplicates for many of those games, just on different platforms. Not to mention alot of various compilation types of games.

Although, I was suprised there were so many Gamegear Sonic games/spinoffs

Very nice collection.

I'm presuming that you know that all six Sonic games for the Cube were released in both normal and player's choice versions.

Unfortunately I do know. I haven't really bothered persuing them much yet as they're not in any danger of getting super expensive anytime soon. :)

I got stung on that Generationa collectors edition btw. Managed to get lucky and bag a PS3 one for about £80 off amazon, but I had to shell out about £150 for the 360 one off eBay. It really is pretty much impossible to tell which 'limited editions' will truly be limited nowadays.

Glad you're all liking the collection, even if a few of you don't like the games. ;)

I managed to get both of mine for £80 ish on amazon, once I saw that it was numbered to 12,000 going by the rings I jumped on the straight away! Glad I did!

Very nice collection. The only game series I know I have every PAL release of for sure is my Pokemon game collection, but since I foolishly threw away the cardboard boxes of the early one, it's be completely boxed. I am however after a fully boxed collection of the Japanese Pocket Monsters games, which is going pretty well so far...

I take it you're not after the Hedgehog's...cartoon antics on DVD as well? I've already got tons of DVDs of the Pokemon anime as well to the collection... XD

You should really try and track down the movie, not getting any cheaper and it is actually quite good!

Ah cool. I have that movie, though its one of those Japanese DVDs that I'm not sure is official. Also have Adventures, SatAm and Japanese Sonic X Season 1 and 2 (Can't bare the English Dub) on DVD.

Used to have the movie on video back in the day, but that DVD is surprisingly expensive. :P
