Think you know what my vote is :P

Are the secret characters better? If so, can we stick to the basic ones as I've already submitted a score using one of them.

AmidstStorm wrote:I don't know how much more of this bullshit difficulty rank I can take.

How does this work exactly?

When I completed the game it was pretty straight-forward, but other times it didn't seem to matter what I did - it was completely unbeatable, the AI always found a way out.

I actually tried playing this game again with a better idea of how it works; holding off shooting until the opponent has launched combo attacks so I can reflect them back with chained explosions. And I do worse than before when I was just trying to shoot everything! I think my biggest bugbear are the boss attacks of some characters, which come straight in from the side instead of appearing at the top and offering some warning.

Sadly the AI imo is ridiculous in this game. On occasion I can walk it to stage 7 unscathed but generally I have most troubles with tinker and linker, Mevious and memory is beyond me. I can absolutely hammer the crap out of this game and taking off hearts off memory seems like itll never happen, even if I'm hitting consistent chains of 20-30 hits. I'll keep having the odd go here and there but this game is retarded and ruined by the AI sadly.

You should definitely submit a score joe fish.

And extra characters are fine. I've tried all of them and it doesn't make the game any easier Im my opinion. Well I still can't censored beat memory either way. :(

AMS, can I retract my NAY and turn it to a YAY?
I had a quick go today and cleared the game with 986K (1K lower than weakboson's  , will post the score later).

All I can say is that Twinkle Star Sprites must be pretty fun as a 2P game, but in single player it just isn't any good.
It's just too short and random.

Hehe I knew you come round kol once youve played it. Congrats on the clear.

I seriously think 15 days on any game is enough for the league. I don't have a lot of time to play really but I still think it drags time wise.

So 3 votes so far in favour of a 15 day game time.

I have absolutely no idea how to score higher in this game.....
Making fights last longer to get more combos and incur in opponent's anger and death? Hmmmm....

Finally the 1CC. not as good a score as my current ranking submission but submitting so I can claim my bonus.

Absoulutely no way in hell i'm playing this again.

Hoping I receive some more votes to reduce it to 15 days.

Awful difficulty randomness ruins it.

I hate this game.

Finally I got a decent story mode score

Mero - ROB - 1,333,080 - 32 - ALL - Load Ran - Story - PS2

I had to censored about with the colours in this pic to make it easier to see. The version I'm playing has a horrendous filter on it which makes the red numbers of the top score bleed into each other :( . I think you can just about make out the numbers now (if you squint).

You score points in this game by getting big chains and collecting the 10k items. The vast majority of your score comes from the final 3 opponents, going into the Dark Ran fight my score was less than 400k. .

Mevious and Memory are tough to beat but if you stay alive long enough they'll go down, I think Mevious' bats are harder to dodge than Memory's flying toast tbh.

I don't think threre's anything funny going on with rank, it's always the same to me :?

EDIT: It's no skin off my nose if you want to shorten the playing time, looks like I'm going to take the top place with ease if everyone's just going to give up

I'll probably give this one a miss, need a pad for my PC and I don't really want to buy this. Be back for the net game though :)

What are these? Are they the coins when they flip on the $ symbol?

Yeah the coins go up 10, 100, 1k, 10k in chain like parodius bells.

I don't think it's about giving up Mero. This game just really isn't that fun imo and it certainly feels like the rank changes from credit to credit. I'd like to reduce the game time as a whole for the league not just for this game.

Edit: Excellant score by the way Nero. F#ck it i'm gonna try and beat it :)
Edit2: Actually had one more credit. It hurts my soul so much to play this game. And for that reason.. i'm out. Sorry.

Still want 15 day game times though guys/gals. Please vote yay or nay. Thanks.

Nay from me. I would want everyone to have enough time to play a given game as much as they want. If someone can't start playing it right away then they'd be at a significant disadvanatge with a shorter time. The longer we have the better chance everyone has at fitting it in around their lives, and the more relaxed everyone can be about the rate at which they progress. Obviosuly there's a balance to be struck and while I don't exactly think 15 days would be too short I'm not convinced 20 is too long.

It's absolutely impossible to know if I'm gonna do any better  so I'll get back to the infuriating reality of Raystorm for the time being.

It's a fair point. We went through this when we decided to chop it from 30 to 20. I think 15 is perfect now and 10 perhaps too short. At least with 15 days you get 2 full weekends to hit a game, but most submissions come in the first week and then it dies off.

For certain games i would definitely agree on an increased time if people are interested in still playing the game, but for Arrow Flash it was far too long being 30 days at the time and 20 days was still too long when we cut it. I think Sonic Wings was about 5 days too long for me. As i'd cleared it and had no intentions on chasing a higher score. For Twinkle Star Sprites I think 5 days is about right.. seriously. It's going to be hard to find a balance and at least with a lower time we get more variety of shmups quicker throughout the season. Can only be a good thing surely. The choices so far have been somewhat lacking in something for me.

I've had 7 votes in favour and 2 against so far.

Misery's been hitting Raystorm hard lately. Think he did some YouTube vids.

Good score there too.
