Well he's not managed any in the seven games he's played against Chelsea! :D

Hard going last night, can't believe the result.

Scundered at Drogba's antics, but delighted with the win & stopping any away goals, it's going to be a LONG 90 minutes next Tuesday.

I can see a 4 or 5 goal pummeling by Barca in the 2nd leg, but well chuffed to even be at this stage, especially after losing to Napoli!

Not really posted much in this thread, this year, as my team Coventry haven't had much to talk about, but we are now relegated to League 1 and it feels very sad indeed. Unfortunately, we will go down as another story of when owners take over a club and promise the world but in the end they ruin everything.

Yeah, unfortunately the writing has been on the wall for relegation for you guys for a couple of weeks now.

A real shame. :(

I kind of had a feeling the start of the season, when I read the fixture list and saw our few best players leaving, it was hard to see where the 3 points were going to come from, and after no quality players were brought in during January, we were pretty much doomed to relegation.

On a positive note, hopefully this will get rid of SISU and we have some owners who actually have an active interested in the club.

You will have to excuse my ignorance but what exactly has been happening at the club?

The decline started when we were relegated from the Premier League over 10 years ago, plans we made for a new stadium when we were in the Premier League and instead of being sensible and scrapping the project, the board pushed forward and signed up to the project that was heavily funded by the council and local charity and other people, to sum it up, nearly all the gate revenue goes back to these people and very little to the club.

A few years ago we were on the brink of administration due to the above and bad transfer/managerial appointments, it was a few hours before the deadline and a company stepped in called SISU, who are basically hedge fund investors, they promised to buy the stadium for the club outright and heavily invest in the squad to get us back in the Premier League.

Things went quiet for a season and the fans were told that debts were being paid off and the training ground was be renovated, which it is was, but the selling of star players and the lack of reinvestment was starting to cause some concern for us fans. After some poking around it turned out that SISU was quiet a dark company and it was hard to find out exactly who the investors in the club were and who was running the operation.

Slowly less money was pumped into the club, then the resession hit and the merry go round in the board room happened, so there was never a single fixed chairman for months, last summer all the top players were sold, the chief scout Andy Thron was made manager and left to field a team made up of average players, youth team and loan signings.

Other then being relegated today, the club has an transfer embargo due to unpaid taxes, and the rental fee on the Ricoh arena has not been paid, in theory we could be playing in League 1 with a youth team, no stadium and no manager, as Andy Thorn's contract will expire in a few months......great being a Sky Blues fan!! :(

Although, I must admit some new investors are on the horizon, Richard Keys (ex Sky Sports) is a kind of spokesperson for them and trying to push things forward, a deal was submitted early last year, but was rejected for reasons unknown.........hopefully SISU will be more open to negotiations now.

Is this just for english footie or do you discuss the joke that is scottish footie too?

Anyway,my team dunfermline athletic are pretty much relegated now after yesterday's 4 all draw with st mirren, and boy am I glad.

I've totally lost interest in not only my team but all football this season,as soon as we were crowned champions last season I knew it would happen as the spl is a rubbish league to play in. No derbies(for my team anyway),getting pumped week in week out, glasgow scum sucking up all the talent and money for themselves.

Next year we go back into a league where we are one of the bigger fish, with 3 local derbies(maybe more depending on the play offs the league below).

The spl needs a drastic reinvention to get fans like myself interested in playing there again.

Hopefully hibs win today to all but cement our fate. Cherio sphell:-)

Ps well done to wee noel hunt at reading for gaining promotion. He was my favourite player in his time in a dunfermline strip.

I am sure this thread is for all football fans, and I am glad to see some scottish football, do take a small interest in the scottish SPL, remember the mid 90's very well, as one of my friends was really into to Rangers, so I remember watching the games on Sky Sports most weeks and seeing McCoist smash them in against all opposition.

It is weird how to league is so heavily dominated by the two Glasgow teams, there surely must be a way to make it more interesting and even, I know other leagues always have one or two big hitters but other teams do manage sometimes to win the league, FC Twente in Netherlands for example.

Liverpool FC's EPL record dating back to February,

Liverpool 0-1 West Brom
Blackburn 2-3 Liverpool
Liverpool 1-1 Aston Villa
Newcastle 2-0 Liverpool
Liverpool 1-2 Wigan
QPR 3-2 Liverpool

Liverpool 3-0 Everton
Sunderland 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal
Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool

Liverpool 0-0 Tottenham

After today's dismal result... bring back Roy Hodgson!

Let's just skip to the Cup Final and have done with this car wreck of a season.

Also: was I seeing things or did Celtic's players have the names on the back of their shirts written in Thai?

We need Rafa back, but pre-goatee when he had the magic touch.

^ But it's the league form that needs sorting - he had the goatee in '08/'09 when we could have - no, should have - won the title!
