This is hopefully being set up for monday. People will have the ability to delete spam but won't have full mod powers.

So all the fun of stamping on spam without the trauma of being in the middle of every fight? i'm sometimes about at odd hours and report most of the spam i see anyway, as long as i'm not expected to be on call 24/7 or anything is it too late to sign up...? =-)

Am I reading it right that we will ALL have the ability to delete spam threads? :?

Nah, I'm pretty sure it's just whover gets appointed to do it.

You can imagine the trouble there'd have if EVERYONE had the power to treat any new thread they didn't like the look of as a spam thread. Mind you, it would help clear a lot of the pro-C64 threads out    .

The first roll out of spam killers should happen today. We'll monitor how things go and give more people permission (or revoke existing permission) as things progress.

How about an algorithm on the back-end database? If every post by a new user gets flagged as spam, they automatically get hidden / suspended until a moderator can investigate.

Right then. There should now be some spam killers in place. To stop these things from popping up continually, please let me know the names of people via pm so that I can stop the IP.

Cheers guys. Now we just need to work on the forum's etiquette…
