ZX Spectrum Live Wallpaper

Hi All,

Having grown up programming the old computers of the 80s and playing many games on them, I created this ZX Spectrum live wallpaper app for Android mobiles that you might be interested in.

It basically continually shows loading screens of Speccy games as they would appear on a real machine. You can choose the games you want to see or you can turn existing images or camera shots into loading screens (complete with colour clash)! There is even a mode to show the live camera image as if it was shown on a Spectrum.

I was thinking of creating similar apps for other 8 bit machines but the Spectrum definitely had a destinctive way of loading in images and I'm not sure others would be as good.

I am also looking at ways to improve the app, so if anybody has any ideas I would gratefully receive them. Comments or criticism also accepted!

Errr... Yeah, I kind of read the rules at the top of the forum after posting. The rules shown at sign up don't exclude this.

Anyway, I'm still hoping for some feedback.

Sadly iOS doesn't have live wallpaper in the same way Android does. So it would have to be some sort of standalone app.

I have thought about other computer versions like the 64. The thing about the Speccy though was that it had such a distinctive way of loading the screens. I guess the C64 had all sorts of custom image loaders.

Not as simple as LOAD "" SCREEN$.

Sound is also tricky as a live wallpaper as it would be playing all the time the phone screen was on, again it would have to be a standalone app.

I'll think about it though...
