Far too few retro computer game reviews. Many reviews aren't very deep.
But on the plus side, Mark reviews some REAL arcade machines and pinball tables. CGR does come across as enthusiastic, which is great, and sly humour plays a major part in the videos. Also, a nice mix of old and new stuff reviewed.
I actually think the lack of "depth" in some reviews is exactly WHY Mark is so good at this.
He doesnt waste a bunch of time nitpicking about small things. He just leaps right in, and then decides: Is this fun/awesome? Or isnt it?
As a result, he's a REALLY positive reviewer, and can usually find the fun in pretty much anything, but still knows a terrible game when he sees one. It's been a really refreshing type of review for me, and I've found myself buying games based ENTIRELY on the videos I've seen from him on the game in question. I have yet to be disappointed with such a purchase even once. Wheras other "professional" reviewers, well..... I find myself disagreeing with them pretty much 95% of the time.
As for lack of retro-PC stuff: I think he simply doesnt HAVE those. There have been side-reviewers that work under him, doing some PC reviews and stuff of that nature, so try some of the side channels. But yeah, he doesnt do even recent PC games at all either. This is ALL consoles, handhelds, and the occaisional other thing like pinball tables.
But he'll only review games he actually has a physical copy of.
