Thanks for that link! I had the the Rifle with the Lion Head target when I was a child! I remembered I had some Nintendo toys brought from Japan by my grandfather, but I couldn't find them. Now I can.

I can only image it must have been very cool to get these toys from Japan in the 70s. A shame you lost them sometime along the way, but I am glad the site gives you an opportunity to relive those memories.

Hello sir's good day

just came across this thread and i thought it is a great chance to promote my site(blog) if it is counted. I've decided to go forward with an idea I've been kicking around for nearly ten years. The upcoming socumentary From Bedrooms to Billions has forced me into action, as it basically covers the exact same ground I'd planned to. Still, I believe a book on the subject would still be valid and could offer something different to a film.

The book will be called They Were Our Gods. It will focus on the British gaming scene in the Eighties, mostly around the Commodore 64 and Spectrum, and will highlight the personalities in the scene and the games they made.

It's only in the early stages, but I've set up a blog that will track my progress. It's here: They Were Our Gods. Please spread the word, if you like the idea.

I have been meaning to come here for about 2 years. In issue 75 of Retro Gamer (pages 62-67) my colleague and I were interviewed about the Famicom Disk system. It was a total thrill because we are both big fans of Retro Gamer Magazine (I pay the big bucks to get it shipped to me in Japan). Anyway, I really wanted to tell all of you about our site, http://www.famicomdojo.tv We do a web video series (The newest episode, about the Neo Geo AES just went up today), and also a weekly podcast and other things. I would really be interested to see what you guys think.

Now that I got that out of the way, I am going to check out some other threads. This looks like a really great site to be on.

Hi Guys I am new to the forum and just started my own retro games review website http://www.retrogamereviews.co.uk

The concept of the website came about because I recently bought an arcade machine with thousands of games on. The problem was finding the good games that I have never heard of before so I relied heavily on my friends; when a different one came round I would ask them what their favourite games were as a kid and if I had never heard of it before I quickly added it to the list of games to check out and play.

After refining this a little I took this concept to Facebook a few weeks back: https://www.facebook.com/RetroReviewGames. I have been writing reviews on the games that I like and have fond memories of and others have been doing the same to build up a sort of database of fun games that are worth playing.

Hopefully this will make your list Craig. Even though it is early days for me and the website I am hoping to turn this hobby into a full time thing
