I wanted to keep track of it's progress, because on paper it sounds perfect for retrogame fans, it's just got off to a shakey start. By accounts it is sorting things out though so it still has my interest, for sure :)

A price drop this soon tells me it's not going as well as planned.

Still for me to bite it would have to come down a bit further

Sigh, this isn't going well. I wish they'd put me out of my misery & disclose what the next batch of games are (if there are any at all) I'm not sure why there needs to be non-disclosure agreements for retro games.

They have also taken on board comments in the community in regard to the price of games, which will be repriced to 2.99 instead of 4.99, and 9.99 for lots of ten.

This does not quite match the press release they made a few days ago which went something like:

'Using the GameGadget Marketplace Application users are able to access every game and download it straight to the device with games costing from £2.99 to £4.99.

A price drop this soon tells me it's not going as well as planned.

The laws of economics (supply & demand etc) would seem to suggest that this is the case. However, according to the most recent press release on this the price is being slashed because due to "phenomenal demand and support”. In other words, they can now scale up production, produce the hardware at a lower unit cost and pass some of the associated savings onto the customer. Bold move! Now all they need to do is reconsider the pricing structure for games and I might look a little closer.

If that's the case why did Nintendo slash the price of the 3DS so quickly? It wasn't because of demand but because it was doing so poorly. Seemed to work for them luckily and I suspect the GG is having the price drop to pump some life into sales.

I wouldn't believe everything they say, I take that press release with a pinch of salt, for me it sounds like they have struggled with sales slashed the price and released that press statement to convince people they won't be buying into a failing product and that those who already have done needn't be worried

Of course I could be wrong but I can't see it have been such a huge seller with the problems it had to do with software and hardware, the pricing of the games and the lack of info on available games.

It seems a bit confused at retail, Grainger have it in stock at £68.99, The hut have it at £89.95, delivery in a month, it seems to have disappeared completely off of Play.com, and on Amazon it is £99.99, Temporarily out of stock, and only ranked at 5,685 in PC and Videogames.

Really not looking very good.

Wow, pleased I chose not to buy one yet...down to 59 quid this quick?! I am a little skeptical that is 'due to overwhelming demand and passing the good fortune onto customers.' More likely they are desperate to shift more units.
I am keen, I have been tempted. But I NEED to know what games are available for it, what games are coming and when to expect them. ATM they are expecting you to buy this hardware with bugger all games, and take their word there's big titles, and lots of them, on the way.
This non disclosure thing has me nervous.
I am waiting for their shop to open, and to see what games are available. Every time I've emailed to ask they can't or won't say what games- isn't that just a little strange? :?

Was just having a look around the site, and had a look at the new forum (and registered). The look of the forum excites me a bit more, I tell ya, if we get titles for the systems listed down the forum I would be onboard well and truely!
The idea with this system is fab, and if it gets some of this potential up and running it will be a great machine for RG fans, no doubt about it.

Sub zero, saw I user with your name there. I assume that's you? I've just registered with the same name as here.

Just registered on the forum as well under the same name as here too. The listed formats look very promising, let's us hope they can deliver.

The way the press is worded seems like they are ow trying to push this towards the dingoo upgrade market, with a dual core 433 CPU it's more powerful, and it just needs a modified Linux os put on and good to go, at £59 it's looking not bad, would like a review to see what buttons, screen is like.
