Defualt difficulty is fine on the PS1 version, I think it's only the Saturn version where it's wrong by default

Cool. If people can be wary of this before they submit scores it would be a great help. I haven't had a chance to set my saturn up to find out whether the settings is called
Normal, arcade or whatever..

This is for anyone who thinks shmups are just a generic form of video game, are all the same and lacking in depth. People who write these things blow my tiny mind :) an interesting read.

I'm getting my arse handed to me on DonPachi.. put in over 2 hrs today.. not one new score to submit. Jeez, someone said this was an Easy 1CC. Hardly 'Arrow Flash' easy is it?

Well, it's just knowing the aptterns, and making sure you take out the diagonal enemies during the boss battles.

Also memorising the bees helps a tonne think it woks out like a million extra a level or something, been a while since i've gone over it.

kollisionBR - EDW - 5,228,820 - Area 5 - 40 - Type A - PS1

Played on Normal (default difficulty is Easy).
Since my previous choice was type B I had a hard time adapting to type A. Need to remember where to stand in stage 4, it took away all my lives..... And I died in the first wave of enemies as soon as stage 5 started

I didn't check that WAIT option this time, the one that supposedly adds the original slowdown. Should PS1 players turn it ON?
Maybe we could check it further, but it seems to me both PS1 and Saturn ports should be on NORMAL to be comparable to MAME.

Considering the slow down would actually benefit the player to some degree, then I'll leave it down to the
Players preference.

Ok, for players running Saturn and ps1 version,
Please set your difficulty to normal.

Hmm, that'd be me. I beat this some time ago. I never thought it was all that tough.

.....to be fair though, I dont think Futari Original/Maniac are all that hard either, so.....

Though, finishing this game was done while ENTIRELY ignoring the horrid scoring system. It's probably harder and more annoying while trying to score.

I think I'm starting to get a feel for stage 4, didn't get very far in 5 though. Just need to iron out a few things and stop making mistakes. The 122 hit chain came at the end of stage 4 and was kind of a surprise, I sure hope I can repeat it!
