Super Sonic in Sonic 2. This "reward" for getting all the chaos emeralds means Sonic goes totally mental after you collect 50 rings, oh, and drains them till you have none left. It makes presise platforming nigh on impossible!

99 Nights 2. Spending 50 minutes playing a level getting right to the end only to get killed and then sent right back to the start of said level. Cue five minutes of cursing the developers especially in the other levels theres automatics save points.

i've been playing through rainbow six vegas 2 the last few days so a lot of things to do with this game,my other two team mates getting stuck,not behind or against anything but out in an open area and entering a room and being killed instantly but not knowing who done it are just two.many eff's have been jeffed.

My Vic 20 nearly got permanently retired today, I could not get anything to load except for cartridges. the Datassette would get half way through loading,and then start to make a squealing noise, so I plugged in the one attached to the Commodore 64, and it did the same, so I disassembled both, gave them a clean, tried again with only the same noise, and failed loads.

So I tried both recorders with the C64, and they loaded a game each first time, no noises, no fuss, so I thought I would check all the connections in the computer, gave it a good clean, plugged it all back in, turned it on, tried to load Jetpac, it failed half way through, saying it was out of memory.

Going slowly nuclear by now, I took out the expansion cartridge cleaned it, tried Jetpac, Blitz, Astro Bell, Jet Set Willy, all failed to load, then it occurred to me to take out the expansion cartridge completely, which has worked for years, the thing loaded all the unexpanded games first time, I tried another 16K pack with Jetpac, and the bloody thing loaded first time...so one expansion pack in the bin.

Always goes to show, check the simplest things first, all that time and effort, if I had just left the pack out from the word go, which seems glaringly obvious now, I would have been fine..doh!

Did calm down with a quick blast on Chariot Race.

They really are the bane of the games. I love them apart from that. You generally get them if you are last but if I am last I don't want to attack the leader, I want to catch up!

They work brilliantly for post-pub local multiplayer games where causing mayhem and having a laugh are as important as winning. When trying to complete the single player mode, they're a right pain in the backside. For future games they should be de-powered a bit or else there should be an option to turn them off.

The blue shells can be frustrating in Mario Kart DS but at least they're not the game breaker (in tandem with other weapons) that they are when playing Mario Kart Wii (more so in single player). Sloppy game design for sure, imho.

As well as that , playing games I once enjoyed only to find them to actually be quite crappy.The rose tinted spectacles have come off lately and am starting to realise that having lots of games isnt better than having a smaller collection of good games that I want to play. Question is just because Star Gladiator is crap , should i then hold back on getting Plasma Sword on the DC?

I've got the PS2 version - you're not wrong! In fact that may top Mario Kart cos it's not just one weapon, it can be ANY weapon!
