Which should I buy

Postby Montytom on Thu May 17, 2012 5:55 pm

Hi long story short I had to sell alot of my gaming collection to pay things off but now I have a few hundred pounds to buy some again and I want your advice if I may?
The 3 consoles I want are ps3 again nintendo 3ds and a ps vita.
The vita and 3ds didn't have alot of good games when I bought them but now they seem to be coming good. The ps3 has a load of good games but I have completed alot of them so really I just need to know if it was your money where would it be going? Thanks in advance for the advice guys

Depends. Do you already have a 360? Many of the best PS3 games are also available on there so unless you're a massive Uncharted or Resistance fan maybe that should go on the backburner. As for deciding between the Vita and 3DS... do you like Sony franchises or Nintendo franchises better? It's basically as simple as that.

Thanks guys Im a big big fan of the uncharted series but I have completed the games many many times.
The only games I had for the vita were ridge racer which wasn't worth the money and uncharted which I completed and was good but not as good as the console versions. The 3ds I had a few games but I never completed any of them. The 3ds is currently winning me over being cheaper portable and having more games than the vita which is portable aswell.

Id go 3DS after picking one up a few weeks ago. Fun and has some cracking games on it, looking forward to the version of Project Zero 2 on it as well.

I'd steer clear of the Vita for now. There just isn't enough games available for it yet to justify the price, best going for something like the 3DS as its had a years worth of titles to play.

This is probably your best bet, some retro systems you can pick up for peanuts and it shouldn't be hard nor particularly expensive to build up a decent set of games.

PC.

All the emulation you care for, lots of free games and GoG.com and Steam always have regular sales.

Best value, highest spec, you really can't go far wrong with a PC for gaming right now. HDMI out is pretty much a standard so you can hook up to the telly just as easily as a console and 360 pads are natively supported in Windows these days.
