Hi guys and dolls,
My name is Simon and for my masters thesis I am writing about adaptation in the Batman video games. As part of one of my chapters I am looking at Tim Burton's Batman (1989) and it's game adaptations; the Ocean software version and the Sunsoft version, and this is where I need some help from some knowledgeable folk as yourselves. Luckily people have uploaded youtube video clips of game play and reviews, but I haven't got access to the paratextual elements of the game. By that, I mean that the games came with booklets that worked with the game to inform and introduce the player to the world of batman, whereas modern games are technologically advanced enough to include information such detailed characters bios, story and information that place the player in the diegesis of the Batman universe. Therefore what I would like to ask from the retro gamer community is if any has these retro games and still have the booklets/information that came within the game? and if so, could scan or photograph so I can look at what these extra bits of information help to inform the game.
I know this is a big ask, but I would really appreciate it and is a vital element for my work. Any wonderful person that can help with this, I will mention in my acknowledgments (I know this is not a lot, but just a little show of gratitude).
Anyway thanks for reading and hope to get a response.
Regards,
Simon
