I can't exactly remember but I am pretty sure it was one of the Activision games for the 2600, I think it was Frostbite but not sure.

Anyway my idiot of the day is a guy in America who just offered me $6 including shipping for Radar Lock on the 2600, I just politely informed him it will cost more than that just to post it now the rates have gone up.

I just ignore these messages now and don't reply to them at all no matter how annoying they are. I have a standard 'T&C' bit that I always copy-paste into the bottom of every auction and one of the points clearly states not to contact me about ending items early. That's why I don't bother answer them.

Why do people think they can just pay (or not pay) when they see fit?

I sold 2 games to an overseas bidder on Sunday, the auction states that if you are an overseas bidder then please ask for postage costs. They obviously didnt and now it seems that they dont like the £13 Airsure costs incurred for shipping to Australia, no contact, nothing. It seems as though they arent going to pay as things stand. How long is it before you can mark it as unpaid?

Another one (uk this time) won a game for just £2.65, again on Sunday. Why cant they just pay when they win? If they pay up I might decide to take up to 5 days before I post to them.

You can mark as unpaid after a week now (it used to be 2!!!)

I get this fiarly often, really annoys me I have to say.

Given the nature of people, and the risk of getting ripped off by not sending something tracked, I think many folks baulk at the shipping costs that get quoted. But nature of the beast. If people were honest and didn't claim something didn't arrive when it actually did, then we'd offer lower costs that didn't need tracking and insurance.

But as with piracy, its the honest punters that are being penalised because of that.

I'd never dream of claiming for an issue that wasn't genuine, yet I pay increased postage costs.

I accept why, but its not really fair on me is it.

Not the first time I've bid early on something just on the off chance it'll sell low, then forget about it for days. That is the nature of auctions that run for days. Make it a Buy It Now and I'll Pay It Now.

Personally I just don't bid on something if I know I'm not going to be able to pay for it when the auction ends because I hate that same thing happening to me when I'm the seller.

If it's a BIN then I pay immediately. Besides, the sooner you pay, the sooner you get your stuff (in theory) so there's no advantage to slacking off with payments.

I'm guilty of leaving auctions unpaid for ages too, I don't seem to get email alerts anymore so I don't always know when I've won something.

The flipside to that is that when I'm winning DS, 3DS and others games at 99p, the seller would prefer I not pay so they can relist

It is a bit strange there isn't an 'auto pay' option for Paypal since they're the same company.

All it needs is for Paypal to debit the maximum bid from the off, then pass the final payment amount to the seller at auction end. That way Paypal knows the money is there, I don't have to remember to pay it and the seller is a happy bunny.

Using the PayPal App is pretty much one click to pay, no passwords n stuff.

same on PC, but you still have to bid, then rememnber when the auction ends and go back and pay.

Should be a one click operation, so I bid and everything thereafter is automated.

I just sell things now as 'Buy-it-now' with 'immediate payment required' - they don't win the auction until they've paid for it... seems to work fairly well for me!
