Am tempted now that Project Diva f's been confirmed, and the Katamari game looks good. Still want to see what Cave are up to though. Backwards compatability would be nice but for now it's a matter of pricing and software I like the look of...

I'll be staggered if Sony don't announce a global price cut for PS Vita at or soon after E3.

I'd guess the standard Wifi-only PS Vita needs to come down to no more than £150 for it start shifting serious numbers of units. Whether Sony is brave enough to take such a short-term hit (they'd presumably be losing plenty on each unit sold at that price) in order to try assuring the console's long-term success is a different matter.

I suspect they'll maybe reduce the standard model PS Vita to around £170 and bundle it with a 'free' 4GB memory card. :?

A price cut would be a good start - and it's more a case of when than if it happens - but for me that's only half the battle. Sony really need to demonstrate that they're committed to the format in the long term and, whilst sales are slow, good games are thin on the ground, and they're hedging their bets with the Xperia Play I'm just not getting that impression.

For all its faults, and the 3DS has a lot of them, at least I know Nintendo, and their usual third party allies, will be making games for it for the next 4-5 years.

I have been mulling over my nephews 3DS, it is a pretty good system and i'm tempted by it after comparing it with my DSI XL, but i think its to far along now for me not to wait for a revision now. It'd be just typical that i'd buy the thing then an annoncment about a revision would filter through.

I'll go out on a limb to predict that it probably won't be this side of Christmas. Nintendo are gearing up for an autumn/winter launch of the Wii-U, and there's not really enough of a window before that to get a new version of the 3DS out.

That said, I wouldn't expect more than a month's notice before they slip it out.
