77 minutes on the clock and teh Cheeky Winker finished like Bendtner usually does!

EDIT:

Too funny! 79 minutes and Bendtner scores the equaliser! That'll teach me to doubt the one who rates himself up there alongside Messi!

And then they get a jammy third, after the first effort went up his arse... still, yeah... Nicolas Bendtner is better than Ronaldo currently...

Damn shame about that final goal.

Yep, he certainly is! Then again Messi looked like Heskey on a bad day in the Chelski vs Barca UEFA Champions League semi-final matches!

Half-time but it's looking curtains for the Dutch already!

Germany is my favourite for the tournament from before it started, and still is. They're solid, some talented players, a great keeper, they've also a bit of luck that helps. And Gomes seems to be at the top of his game.

As for my national team, we'll have a tough match against Croatia, they've always been trouble for us... I hope to see Di Natale on the field, he's the most fit attacker we have. And maybe see Ireland stop the spaniards...

Did no-one on the Beeb notice that Pirlo's free kick took a deflection off Rakitic's head?

A free kick is not "brilliant" or "incredible" or "awesome" if it hits an opposition player on its way in.

But then it was mostly Mark Bright bleating on and on - enough said! :?

This current Republic of Ireland team look very average indeed relative to the days of McGrath, Staunton, Roy Keane, Townsend, Aldridge, Bonner, Irwin, Houghton, et al. :?

How on earth did they win so many games in the run-up to the tournament? Surely there's only so many times a team can play Scotland!

EDIT: My god, they must be way below average - Torres has bagged a brace!

True, very true, a nause of the highest order. But I raise you Peter Drury of ITV, he cabbages my head with the little rhymes and pearls of wisdom he spouts when a team scores. The Guy is a grade A censored, in terms of commentary  .

Hate it when people go on slagging off commentators. But now I've heard Brighty commmentate, I fully understand!! :(

I'm not sure it did, the flight of the ball didn't seem to deviate to me.
