I think you would like DayZ, the latest mod for ArmA 2 on PC.

Its a persistent open world zombie RPG and probably the most realistic (including permadeath) simulation out there. You have to find food and water as well as search around for weapons, ammo, and car parts to repair vehicles. All whilst looking out for zombies and other, possibly hostile, player survivors trying to kill you and take your stuff.

Notice how everyone seems to be talking about games with Zombies that are integral to the gameplay - as opposed to just shoehorned in on the back of some Zeitgeist? It'd be like a Zombie-world in Mario Galaxy 3. Pure crowd-pleasing.

The only problem is the fastest way to lose a customer is to give them exactly what they think they want.

I wouldn't say either are perfect either. Especially Yakuza which I have a long list of problems with but I still spent 60 hours playing it! Ditto Dead Rising.

And yeah, I agree with getting a proper RE2 Remake in the style of the first game. Its my favourite RE game and I think a remake would be brilliant (and not an on rails shooter this time like Dark Side Chronicles)

Left 4 Dead got the desperation and hordes parts correct, although it was of course far more arcade based

Saw the trailer to the recent Zombie-em-up Lollipop Chainsaw, but Escapist only gave it a "meh" review. Anyone say different?

I say different. It's fairly linear and short but pokes fun at everything and is really fun to play with the crazy chainsaw combos etc. Plus, the main character is far more appealing than a space marine with tree trunk arms

I reckon the average scores simply stem from the linearity of the game but it's just so crazy in a typical Suda51 fashion that it's worth rolling the old zombies out again.

I agree Lollipop Chainsaw is pretty cool. The first thing i tried to do is look up the main characters skirt only to have her annoyingly cover her bits up with her hands every time i tried to perve. From that moment i was hooked. :D

It's also apparently an Achievement. I'm both disgusted and amused at the same time!

Must mean that 360 players are the bigger pervs then because I didn't get a trophy for doing it

I saved up 90 platinum medals in the game to buy this costume anyway. Everybody sold on the game yet?

Just found a copy of Zombi on the Amiga in a big box of discs and had a go. To my surprise it's made by Ubisoft too. It's dlfirst person dungeon/survival game where you have to loot supplies. First time I've heard of it. Could the new Zombie U be a current gen remake/re-imagining of this game. Anyone played this?

That looks just exactly like the sort of zombie game I'd like to play. Got a couple on my xbox, and have been underwhelmed to say the least.

To be honest I'd written off this game as a bit of crap before I saw this video: The one with the upskirt achievement!

Once I saw it was supposed to be very tongue-in-cheek I've decided I want to buy it. It looks batshit crazy!
