Having seen the replay, and considering his tyres were cold after the pit-stop, I think he may be "not very guilty", this time. The main problem is that he's a repeat offender... and every time you see him and Perez you can almost predict the outcome of their "meeting" beforehand.

Having to judge this single episode, I'd say it can be considered a racing incident (with no penalties). But surely Mal is not a victim here.

Yeah - it was pretty obvious he wasn't going to the Italian Red Bus Co.

Yes, the 1993 European Grand Prix at Donington Park was officially sponsored by SEGA. The race was branded the SEGA European Grand Prix.

Williams were sponsored by SEGA that season and their cars featured prominent SEGA logos as part of the livery.

See Damon Hill's 'legs' and 'shoes'!

... and Sonic's image adorning both Prost and Hill's racing helmets plus the red footwear and white gloves like Sonic with the albeit standard issue but handily blue Williams racing overalls!

An officially licensed t-shirt of the time,

The coolest thing though?
SEGA reputedly approached McLaren as a sponsor for the 1993 season. McLaren declined the approach as they supposedly thought adorning their car with Sonic The Hedgehog's image wouldn't be appropriate - too childish for the traditionally serious/po-faced McLaren image, presumably. As stated above, Williams subsequently accepted SEGA as a sponsor for 1993.
However, each time Senna/McLaren won a race that season, to take the rise out of Williams, for the following race * they adorned the winning driver's (Senna) McLaren MP4/8 car with an image of a hedgehog that was roadkill with a big red tyre mark splattering it!

See behind the wing mirror here on Senna's car for what I'm referring to,

* some sources state said splattered hedgehog image on Senna's McLaren was unique to the SEGA European Grand Prix in 1993 at Donington Park.

Top marks DreamcastRIP for posting all the pics!

I did wonder what the roadkill hedgehog was on the cars when watching the season review - still think the trophy is pretty bad though!

Anyway, I recommend watching the season reviews on Sky F1 - 1998 is coming up soon, the rather large pile up at Spa in the p*ssing rain....

Only a matter of hours until the race gets under way.

The red bus Co have popped onto pole again and the FINGER is 2nd :x

Button out qualified Hamilton for the 1st time this year :D

No rain expected for the race and McLaren have a good car....... fingers crossed for Button!

Yes! Another great victory :D :D
Good car, perfectly driven by Alo, the others didn't stand a chance.

I'm also actually happy for Jenson despite the fact that he drives one of the silver rubbish bins, I've always liked the guy. I'd really like to see him at Ferrari next year, even if it's unlikely if not just gossip. But enough of Massa, we could just deploy only one car and save some fuel

That was a great drive from Alonso. It is great to see how quick the Ferrari is now, it was always a little behind on raw pace (even with Fernando at the wheel), but now it is truly competitive on merit.

I wonder what the fallout of this engine mapping debacle will be?

A well deserved penalty for that overtake. Button 2nd, Kimi 3rd and kobyashi 4th.
Was a good race but no classic. Brilliant to see button back up the front :D

That's a fair decision, Vettel had 4 wheels out of the track, Button did nothing unfair, he should have let Jenson stay ahead and retry overtaking him later. That's even better for us too

I hope it will rain in Budapest next sunday, it will probably be the only way to avoid a boring race.
