Yeeaaaahhh. NO.
Walked past a room. Camera suddenly switches to a ghost of a young girl just floating near the ceiling. Turned the power off.

NOPE!
Evermore wrote:I next stuck on Mario Strikers Charged or whatever its called on the Wii. Oh dear. This is a Wii game of its time; 2007. All waggly motion controls, "accessible" gameplay, and of a poor quality overall. This is a million miles away from the quality that Nintendo was putting out in the years previous. Its a game that was farmed out to a developer with little ability in designing and developing high quality software. Its fun for a while, but when you are winning games 17-1 you know there is something wrong. Plus actually scoring a goal from open play is strangely difficultyAll the goals come from the silly mini-game / charge shot mechanic. The annoying cut-scenes during play and the over all crappy graphics are a hinderance to its enjoyment as well. It doesn't look or feel like a Maro game either. Almost feels like a Mario title made for a third party system, like the CDi game. I'm going to hold onto it however as its Mario game and I am a fanboy, plus it is moderately fun at times. I am going to give it another few goes and see what happpens..... you never know, it might get better once it stops being so damn easy.

For whatever reason, I never got round to picking up thr first until this week. And its a superb title. The graphics, whilst very jaggy, are excellent. The atmosphere is spot on. The game plays almost identically to its follow-up, but what is interesting here is the game feels a little bit faster, and more like an arcade light gun game. Its hard to explain why, but its the movement and shocks which make it more like a light gun game when compared to its sequel, which is slower, and feels more like a traditional Resident Evil adventure, but on rails. They are both great game though in their own right, and the controls are excellent.
I love the level designs in Unberella. The bosses are also brilliant, and the challenge on Normal is pitched just right. The weapons upgrade system however is inferior to the follow-up, and there is seemingly less reward for shooting up the level furniture in this game. Its probably not as good a title in terms of its over all game design on paper, but it does seem that little bit more exciting, and scary too.

Oh dear. I have this one in my 'to play' pile and that doesn't sound good. I loved the Gamecube original though as it was great fun unlike 'serious' football games which I can't stand. Have you played the first one to compare the two? (I might have asked you this before but I can't remember!). Forced waggle controls sound like a pain in the ass though and definitely - like you say - a product of the early 2006-7 Wii era

The only brief waggle is the strong tackle to slam your opponent of the ball, it's basiaclly just a flick opf thewrist and you don't do it constantly so it's not too bad, well you can but doing it a lot punishes you by giving your opponent items. The "multi-ball" shot uses a pointer mini gamer for the defending player to save the shots. Again you don't do this very often as it takes lot of time on the ball to power up this move.
