Hooray! My 50th profile! Let's massage my ego with one of the better examples of my favourite genre (shooting!) on my favourite platform (MegaDrive!) by my favourite developer (Wolf Team!). It's... Granada! Some might call it Granada X, or even XGranadaX, but that's just because the title screen's a bit weird. Really.
Anyway, GRANADA stars YOU as a tank, which I have to assume is a haunted tank. The "story" describes it as a lone warrior prowling the world, destroying the weaponry of both sides in the big war thing of 2016. So it has spooky names like Warrior of Africa and Ghost of Soldiers. Where "Granada" comes from I have no idea. Some kind of North-West ITV connection, perhaps?
Right, so you're a haunted tank. Y'alright with that? Better than nothing, right? As G-Man the Haunted Tank, you must "take out" all of the installations on a big map (helpfully pointed out by an on-screen map), and then kill a boss. Sound good? Well, there's loads of little tanks and big tanks everywhere as well, and these will try to stop you. No problem, just blow them up. It's the big squeezy rollers you have to look out for (at least on the first level anyway).
There's your main turret which can remain fixed in one point whilst you drive around wherever you want. Useful! There's a big fat cannon on your tank as well, which is SO POWERFUL it sends you rolling backwards a few yards. Some homing missiles are also available, as is a rather spiffing bullet-deflector device jobby, which will spin around with merry abandon, making sure everyone but your own good self is somewhat maimed by shards of explosive metal.
Nine great big levels, each one "harder" than the last, lots of bangs and booms, hidden stuff, some music, and "efficient" graphics. Lovely. In a spooky way, oooohh!!!
