Few superheroes have been as mistreated and misrepresented in video games as The Dark Knight except, maybe, Superman, Aquaman, Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man... Come to think of it most superheroes are more mistreated than The Caped Crusader. Regardless, there are too few examples of games worthy of the World's Greatest Detective's Bat-stamp of approval. Most will site the classic NES game, Batman and his most recent outing, Arkham Asylum but too few will mention the SNES version of Batman Returns.
Taking its inspiration from Capcom's Final Fight and an almost too literal take on the movie it's based on, Batman Returns is an enjoyable romp from Konami, who know how to make great side-scrolling beat-em-ups like Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles and The X-Men arcade game...two comic book franchises that have fared quite well in video games, hmmmm...
Good Batman games are few and far between, as are good movie licenced games so check this one out.
