Target Renegade

Game Profile:

Wow what an excellent game Target Renegade was back in the day. I remember vividly the time cos I was 12 years old when this superb game was released to a beat 'em up hungry fan base. We had already had our kicks previously with Renegade but Target Renegade upped the anti massively.  You took on the roll as a dude (or 2 dudes in co op mode) who would take on Mr Big, the big bad boss. The game was spread over 5 different levels (Multi story car park, sleazy street, park, the mall & the bar) and you would beat up as many foes along the way to reach Mr Big.  The graphics were not as good as renegades but the action and music surpassed in droves. You could pick up many assorted weapons including baseball bats and axes to strike your enemy with but you could be attacked by them too.  The levels were very varied and the balance of difficulty was spot on. Give this gem a go you won't be disappointed.

I've only ever played this on the Spectrum, and it's still my favourite beat 'em up to this very day.

Still got it, still play it, still ain't bloody finished it though! I was in my early teens also when this came out and have to say it still stands as one of the best 8-Bit beat 'em up's ever released.

That soundtrack.....*comes over all misty eyed* My 10 year old ears had never heard such superb CPC tunage before, and I still have it on MP3 today :) The C64 version was great too (despite the player looking like Rambo!!). I think another bash at this on WinApe is in order.....
