We reported on GOG’s plans to support Linux operating systems earlier this year, and now those plans have come to fruition. In fact, the games have arrived early and a number of them are brand new to Linux. To support the launch, the company is running a Linux Launch Sale until late on Monday night, with games such as Pirates! Gold, Defcon, Rise of the Triad and Duke Nukem 3D going for as little as $1.49.
If you’re unfamiliar with GOG.com, the site has built a reputation as a key retailer of classic PC games, thanks to its DRM-free releases and its efforts to update old games to work on modern operating systems. The retailer currently offers software for Windows, Mac and Linux users.
