GOG.com expanding platform support

It’s good news for Linux retro enthusiasts, as GOG.com has announced plans to expand its range of software to include Linux games in the future. This is news that will no doubt please users of the site, who have made it by far the most requested feature on the site’s community wishlist with nearly 15,000 votes. The plan isn’t complete – crucially, there are no games yet announced – but we know that the distributions being supported will be Mint and Ubuntu and that GOG.com is aiming to have support ready by autumn this year. If you’ve never come across GOG.com before, it’s an online retailer of classic PC games, which sells DRM-free games with fixes and updates to get them working on modern platforms.
