Capcom recently revealed that both Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 will no longer be available to European cutsomers from 19 December.
The good news is that both games and their downloadable content can currently be bought at bargain prices, the bad news is that it’s highly likely they’ll be returning any time soon.
While owners will be able to redownload the game at any time after it has been purchased it will come as a Spider-man-style kick to the crotch for anyone planning to pick the games up at a later date. You can of course get Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 in physical form, but unless you go for an older system, the same isn’t possible for Marvel Vs Capcom 2.
While Capcom hasn’t revealed the reason for the games being taken down, it’s most likely due to a licence expiration. Similar things have happened to OutRun Arcade, Doom and Speedball 2, highlighting one of the big pitfalls of digital gaming.
