Nintendo Opens Up Its Storage Room

Imagine being able to open up a brand new Famicom and Famicom Disk System for the first time today, then loading up The Legend Of Zelda for the first time. It’s a crazy thought, but something that is entirely possible – albeit only for the select few with access to the storage facility at Nintendo’s head office in Kyoto.

The company has been celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Legend Of Zelda by showing off the original game in all its glory – and that meant unboxing brand new examples of the Japanese equivalent of the NES and its add-on drive. The company even showed off a Famicom Disk Writer – a kiosk that used to be located in retail stores which allowed players to write new games to their disks, for a low price of just 500 yen per write.
