If you’re a fan of SNK, the company has just launched a game which will please your nostalgic urges – The Rhythm Of Fighters. The game is available now on iOS and Android at a price of 69p ($0.99), and includes a range of tunes from across the SNK catalogue, including The King Of Fighters ’96, Metal Slug 2 and Cool Cool Toon.
That last game is the key one, as The Rhythm Of Fighters takes much of its gameplay from the company’s oft-forgotten Dreamcast rhythm action game. As in that game, you need to time hits on notes within a circular play area, but the new game introduces a variety of features including drag notes and flick notes. In that regard, it’s similar to recent arcade touch-screen music games such as DJMax Technika and MaiMai. Extra track packs are available as downloadable content, featuring more music from SNK games.
