The latest Kickstarter project to hit the retro gaming community is a big one, as Chris Huelsbeck is marking 25 years of Turrican II with a celebratory album featuring orchestral versions of his classic soundtrack. The new album will feature almost an hour of newly recorded orchestral music, including popular tracks such as The Final Fight, The Great Bath and Concerto For Lasers. The album will be performed by the FILMharmonic Orchestra Prague, and Thomas Böcker, Roger Wanamo and Jonne Valtonen at Merregnon Studios will be working on the production side.
The project launched earlier today and requires $75,000 to succeed – it’s already passed the $17,000 barrier as we write. Amongst the rewards, $15 will get you a full digital copy of the album, $30 will get you a CD and $65 will reward you with a limited edition set featuring a CD and double vinyl. Additional rewards are available, up to a $1,500 tier. Stretch goals include additional artwork, further recording and the addition of a choir.
