Eeh, Capcom, eh? They don't half get some funny ideas. Take this one for example. They take Mega Man, Arthur from Ghosts 'n Goblins, a Darkstalker, a couple of Street Fighters, the girl from Alien Vs. Predator and one of those weird elf things from Three Wonders, strap them all into rocket-powered rollerskates, then set them loose as some kind of mounted-police unit. Hatstand, a bit.
Anyway, YOUR role in all of this is taking control of one of the seven characters, and maybe inviting a "friend" along too, and making them skate around the place smacking everyone else to bits. A bit like Smash TV then.
Well, it plays more like a hybrid of Smash TV and Streets of Rage, as you can use melee attacks as well as treating it like a crazy bullet-hell shoot-mupp thingy. The arenas aren't big, but they're impressive enough and don't get over-run by enemies too easily. These are mostly themed around other Capcom games, by the way – for example, there's a Resident Evil level where you fight those demon dog things, and there's a city area featuring Vega from Street Fighter II.
All in all, it's a doozy in 2-player mode, and you'll have a lot of fun with it, although in single player mode it still throws the same amount of enemies at you and can get slightly rock-solid in the difficulty stakes. Which is no bad thing, right?
