Not having played any of the previous Sonic Advanced games for the GBA, I went into this game with an open mind but fearful of the horrific Wii titles of recent still lingering in my mind. Honestly, I was pleasantly suprised by this title and throughly enjoyed playing it. Speed is what Sonic games were all about on the Genesis and Sonce Advanced 3 brings all the classic speed to a handheld near flawlessly.

I say near flawlessly because of the one problem I found. It is the simple fact that when Sonic goes around loops or changes direction going around turns, you have to press the way he is facing on the D-Pad. In the old games there wasn’t much direction changing, but when you did in the middle of a long speed run, all you had to do was hold the direction you were going originally. Having to press different directions is just unnatural for me, having played and mastered the Genesis games.

The music and level designs are all fresh but have a classic feel to them. If you can get past the little control flaw, is a really fun well put together game. Diehard fans of Sonic will enjoy this game and definitely should give Sonic Advanced 3 a try.
