Here is quite a good game that was outside of the usual arcade games that Amsoft was producing.
It is 1940 and you play as the Captain of the Graf Spee, with the task of trying to sink as many English ships as possible in the Atlantic. I would be interested to know if this was a popular game in England, as it is unusual for a game to be played as the 'away team'.
The Graf Spee was a formidible warship and you have at your disposal in this game six 11" guns and torpedoes. The graphics are quite good, giving you maps and graphical representations of the ships you are engaging. Other considerations are the need to refuel and the Royal Navy cruisers who are searching for you with the intention of putting a large hole in your nice boat.
A good naval strategy game, not in the same league as Hunter Killer, but still OK.
