This game is one of the best Amiga games I have ever played. A perfect side scrolling shooter with great graphics, great sound effects with a stunning soundtrack.
After Yuri's partner is tortured to near death by the Vile Sorcerer, Yuri uses his Magic Talisman to turn himself into a beautiful bee. Many insects and wildlife stand in his way.
With five fantastic worlds with large end of level bosses makes this game one of the best shoot em ups of all time, in my opinion.
I have finished this game many times and I will never get bored playing it.

The amiga was home to some fantastic horizontal shoot em ups back in the day. 1992 saw Project X, Agony and this gem released a year after R-Type 2 blew us away.
Anyway, the story goes the dark magician has poisoned your girlie and you have to fix this in a form of a wasp. After choosing a difficulty level you start at the beginning in the field, complete with a variety of insects to shoot. Shooting waves of insects leaves flower petals behind which when collected can improve your firepower. Such as bomb, spread shot, lightning, drone and shield. Once your firepower has improved you may have a chance to marvel at the wonderful scenery and all the animations of the army of insects out to stop you.
There are five levels in the game with three stages each. The first level is through fields and meadows. The second is set above and in a pond. The third sees you fly through a sewer where there are plenty of nasty suprises waiting. These all have their guardians at the end of each stage. The rat whose body explodes and his gut fires at you is an eye opener. A second player can join in but they can only play as a drone and has limited weapons. At the end of each level there is a bonus stage where you can collect the angels and avoid the devils. Hidden are other bonus stages but finding them is not easy.
Apidya is graphical treat throughout and is very polished and playable. The music comes from that man Chris Huelsbeck of Turrican fame so you know you are in for a treat, specially the first couple of levels. Easily one of the best shooters for the amiga if not the best.
