Base Jumpers was a highly underated and original platform game from the highly underated and original publisher Rasputin (see also Jetstrike). The game involved climbing up a tall building, (which had been broken into (?)) ascending to the top, and then throwing your self off.

Base jumper had two things going for it:

1) On the way up, you could collect various letters. You would get bonuses for 3 letter combos which made sense. They also generated various on-screen effects and enhacements.

2) Once you reached the top you had to jump off. You had to time your parachute pull just right, or else you would become with the pavement.

This was best played in multiplayer but equally as enjoyable going solo.

For some reason, Rasputin's games were alway rated in the 60's/70's. I can see no reason why.
