I chanced upon this about eight years ago when Game and Telegames got together in a deal to distribute retro stock in regular Game stores. I bought a Lynx (boxed for a tenner!) and a few games, including Chip's Challenge, Xybots, Crystal Mines II and of course Ishido.
It's a puzzler where you have to match stones by colour or by the shape marked on them. The more stones you match simultaneously, the greater the points reward (yadda, yadda, yadda… you know the deal). But if you manage to match a freshly laid stone with four surrounding it, an oracle will give you some kind of ambiguous mystic message.
But this isn't the strangest thing about the game. There is a fairly scantily clad lady on the box art FOR NO REASON! (then again, maybe she's the oracle…it would all make sense then).
All in all, it's one of the more addictive games in my Lynx collection… but then, one of the other games I bought was Pit-Fighter!
Now, if I could only do something about the Lynx's battery life and the migraines I get from staring at the screen, I'll be made.
