With the latest issue of Retro Gamer giving Pandemonium for the I-Phone the thumbs down, I thought Pandemonium for the Playstation 1 is worth a mention.
One of the early PS1 releases, Panemonium is a 2.5D platformer where you can control 2 characters, Nikki and Fargus the jester. Nikki wants to be a wizard and one day while practising spells with Fargus, she creates a horrible monster!
Loads of different 2.5D levels. It's almost a 3D game but you can only go left or right and jump so i guess you could call it 2.5D. As with many early PS1 games, it hasn't aged well graphics wise but still a good platform game. Nice soundtrack too!

Pandemonium is a great 2-D side-scroller adventure game using 3-D enviroments and nice graphics. The colourful visuals and nature look somewhat simular to NiGHTS but are totally different in gameplay.
Probably the biggest bummer is that the control ain't perfect but are alot tighter in the saturn version. Another odd difference between the playstation and saturn version is that the PS version is alot more happier and bright in colour while the saturn version is alot more gloomy and alot darker.
Besides that the game has some neat special effects, wild levels with lots of secret areas and you get to play as the fun-lovin jester Fargus. Very fun to play and entertaining.
