When I got my Wii back in 2006 there was one system I couldn't wait to see on the virtual console and that was the Neo-Geo. After reading and hearing about this unique system on the internet I couldn't wait to download some Neo-Geo games for my Wii and none more than Samurai Shodown 2.

I have always been a fighting game fan but when I played this cult gem for the first time I was blown away. The graphics were so colourful and the detail was like nothing I had ever seen before. The gameplay was innovative, realistic and addictive. Having everyone in the game have a specific weapon made this Soul Calibur before Soul Calibur another reason for it's innovation in gaming.

Samurai Shodown 2 is regarded by Neo-Geo fans and gaming critics as one of the greatest SNK games of all-time and to me that's an accolade in itself. SNK released a ton of incredible games for the system but when everyone who plays it is in mutual agreement I think you have something special. Samurai Shodown 2 is also one of the Neo-Geo's biggest games containing 202 Megs also helping to show the capabilities of the system and catridges on this cult console.

To conclude I personally feel Samurai Shodown 2 is one of the greatest fighting games ever and one of SNK's best ever games. At a time when Street Fighter ruled the roost in fighting games it's a welcome breath of fresh air to play a game as good if not in some cases better than one of the greatest games of all time. For 900 Wii Points on the Shop Channel and avalible for download on the Xbox Live Arcade it's a must have for any SNK and fighting game fan.
