"Seiken Densetsu 3" ("The Legend of the Holy Sword 3") is the sequel to the famous SNES game "Secret of Mana". Sadly, it was never released outside of Japan but an English translation patch has ben released in 2000.
The game features 6 main characters from wich you choose 3. Depending on your choice, you will get a different ending and a different story so the game has a high replay value.
"Seiken Densetsu 3" employs a real-time combat system and a ring menu, where the player can access items, magic spells, character status etc. Each of the 6 main characters has his or hers unique class, and once they reach level 18 they can be promoted to a new class, giving them new spells and abilities. Furthermore, once the character has reached level 38, another promotion is available to make them even stronger.
The game also features a calendar function and a day/night cycle so a different events will occur depending whether it's day or night.
Graphics are eye candy, music is excellent, story is very enjoyable and the replay value is really high. It's definitely one of those games that shouldn't be missed.
