Dubbed as 'Super Weightloss Penguin' in my eyes, Yume is a quirky platform cum shooter Famicom game. The story sees our blubbery hero dumped by his girlfriend for a buff more studly penguin, beginning your weightloss journey to win her back!

The whole point is to collect fitness shakes strewn across the levels whilst avoiding all manners of food projectiles tossed by the enemies. The more food you eat, the fatter you get, the game using a meter at the bottom of the screen to gauge your weight. Go too far and you lose a life whereas in the opposite direction you buff up making it easier to traverse the levels.

If you get to the end of a stage and not lost the pre-determined weight, our hero receives a phonecall from the ex, giving you an earful. You lose a life and have to repeat the stage!

As you progress the game switches beetween a Parodious-esque shooter where you dodge bullet hell in the shape of various foods. These sections break up the platform parts pacing it all perfectly.

Yume is a very original game and really has to be seen to be believed!
